Each student in Middle School can access 5 hours of PE every two weeks. The Academy's Talent programme enables students to access top quality coaching in specific sports.

PERFORMING ARTS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Canterbury Academy, an Artsmark Gold school, has always embraced, and remains firmly committed to, the arts.
Each student in Middle School can access 5 hours of music and drama every 2 weeks. The Academy's Talent programme enables students to experience workshops and perform with professionals from the industry.

The Canterbury Academy identifies the academically gifted and talented students across the school to provide stretch and challenge both within the formal curriculum and through extra-curricular and enrichment activities.
The school is partnered with ‘The Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys’ where the grammar school curriculum is studied, by boys and girls, and teaching focuses on real pace and challenge within a comprehensive school environment.

The Canterbury Academy is a school for all the talents. All students are good at something. Some students will be exceptional practical learners. The Canterbury Academy provides opportunities for our students who are gifted and talented practically and these opportunities are often linked to the world of work.
Our Gifted and Talented programmes offer a wide range of opportunities and develop a wide range of skills.
For example:
The school has offered courses in wig making, spray tanning, visits to Beauty Excel and Olympia, midwifery seminars, work placements and workshops concerned with things as diverse as animal care and floristry.

FUTURE PLANS
The Langton curriculum will continue to develop into KS4 for 2015. The programme of enrichment will be focussed during 2 hours weekly development slots.
