Courtney Wagon Achievements

Courtney Wagon in Year 12 has recently had a number of brilliant achievements in ice-skating, which she attends out of school. Courtney is very modest about her ice-skating talents but it definitely should be highlighted and celebrated.

Courtney has been ice skating since she was 7 years old. In 2017 she was selected from a group of 25 people to take part in a music video for 'Aquilo'. The music video focuses on the story of a football coach and ice skater. The ice skater sacrifices her skating for a boy who she thought she

loved. The chosen actor was not able to ice skate so Courtney took the role as her skating double. She has said that they took over her life for a month, using all her clothes, photo's and dresses. They even changed the main character's name to 'Courtney' as it was on all her ice-skating training items!

Courtney has also qualified for the British Solo Dance Championships and came 3rd, as well as being part of the GB Development Squad for ice skating, attending camps and on and off training sessions.

This year in December Courtney sustained a back injury and had to attend Physio. She was off skating for 8 weeks and the doctors confirmed that Courtney had mild scoliosic. Fortunately, they said there was no need to operate. Courtney started skating again at the end of January and still managed to qualify for the British Championships again.

Courtney is now back to full strength and recently opened Tunbridge Wells Ice Rink a few weeks ago and also, Eastwell Manor on Tuesday with Jake Quickeden.
