Gymnastics and tennis success in half term for Canterbury Academy students

Ryan Williams competed in the annual Appeti half term competition over half term and came away with a win in the under 12 singles competition. He also won the under 14 doubles alongside Year 8 student, Pedro Jimenez. Ryan has been training with Appeti for some time now and will be part of a specialist group working with their coaches on Fridays after school.

Josie Cooper performed really well in another gymnastics competition for Canterbury Gymnastics Club last weekend in the South East Regional Championships. In a competitive group, she came eighth overall and placed third on her floor routine. She helped her team place third in the overall competition.

Please congratulate both of these students and Pedro when you see them around school and can mentors make their students aware of the range of activities going on before school and after school for the students. Term 2 Extra-curricular timetables are in mentor packs and on display in the sports centre.
