Students inspired by internationally acclaimed researcher Professor Nick Fox

On 22nd September the Academy ‘Science Enrichment Week’ continued when 90 students had the opportunity to hear Professor Nick Fox (Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery) talk about the societal impacts of Dementia, as well as share some of the ground-breaking research that his team are undertaking.

Quote from Professor Nick Fox

‘I was extremely impressed by the level of engagement, interaction, interest and knowledge of the students in each lecture. There were some extremely thoughtful questions- some of which reflected interests and experiences. Several students stayed on to ask questions after the lectures-it was a real pleasure giving the talks and speaking to the students afterwards.'

Student quotes

‘I had a great day, I learnt a great deal and I am much more educated on the nature of dementia. The talk was unforgettable’ Josh Marsh, Yr11

‘The presentation really increased my knowledge of dementia, including the causes and effects.’ Erin Payten, Yr11
