Scholastic Excellence Award

On 18th July twenty two students from new Year 11 were congratulated with a special lunch and award for their progress. These students were rewarded for their outstanding achievement in the academic year. To obtain this impressive scholastic award the students have outperformed their academic targets in more than two of their GCSE subjects.

This is noteworthy success as they are now on track to exceed most of their targets for all of their subjects that they will be examined on next summer. Through a combination of resilience, academic reflection and attendance at extra support sessions the students have succeeded in performing at a very high level.

To further reward and acknowledge their achievements, Mr Brooke, Head of the Senior School presented them with academic progress badges. To further support and foster their academic curiosity the students have been invited by Canterbury Christ Church University to participate in a schedule of academic enrichment at the University.

This will include attendance at first year lectures, taster days in their specialist areas of interest and academic mentors from second and third year students.

Mr Brooke commented that; ' As a school we are delighted with this cohorts' progress and now look forward to them acting as role models for their younger peers and pushing the boundaries of their academic potential through our partnership with the university'
