American Football Competition
On Tuesday 27th June, a Year 7 team took part in the first Flag American Football tournament at the East Kent Games.
Our first game was against Royal Harbour Academy who fielded a very strong team and although we gave away height and speed to our opposition the students fought hard. The game was extremely close with handling errors on both sides and we ended up losing 10-7.
Unfortunately, the games that followed against Gravesend Grammar and Folkestone Academy also resulted in losses. Although the students struggled against the teams due to height and size, they never stopped fighting and went on to ensure they scored points in every game.
The students had earnt the respect of their fellow competitors at the tournament by the end of the day. The team received huge praise from the coaches for never giving up in the face of bigger opposition.
If you see the following students, please congratulate them on their efforts.
