Yr 10 Football team crowned district champions for a second consecutive year!

The year 10 football team beat St Anselms 3-0 on Tuesday evening to be crowned the district football champions for a second consecutive year.

Arsene Bonney, keen to follow in Jürgen Smith's footsteps from the previous year, made one enforced change from the 4-1 semi-final victory against Herne Bay High School with Brooke Tiernan coming in for the injured Jimmy Witt.

The boys started well and dominated possession and created two clear cut chances in the first half but the score remained 0-0 at half time.

Discussions with a very cold coaching staff that included Jose McCuinho and Harry Relf led to some inspired substitutions for the second half. One of those changes produced the opening goal from the head of Max Ndah ten minutes into the second half and this knocked the stuffing out of a St Anselms side intent on “parking the bus” from kick off .

Captain Baily Sinnock was an integral part of a faultless back four and added a second from a well worked set piece straight out of Arsene Bonney’s set piece bible and the scoring was rounded off by Max Ndah with his second of the evening which was a thumping volley from the edge of the box.

An excellent team performance from the boys means that they are crowned the best footballing side in the district at under 15 level. Please congratulate them if you see them.
