Year 8 Students attend model UN conference

At the the end of last term 22 year 8 students attended the first Christ Church Model United Nation conference. The Academy was one of only three Kent schools in attendance. Our students were regularly recognised as students that were highly attentive, proactive and leading discussions. This style of conference is normally aimed at the sixth form age range. There are very complex procedural rules as well highly complicated global issues that have to be voted on discussed and amended. Our students were involved in the medical provision for LEDCs and the ways to tackle poverty in the most deprived nations.

Joe Muddiman and Kareem Amara were awarded the best debater in their caucus. 8 students from 300 received awards. Rory Bean was an excellent contributor and was keen to always ask difficult questions.
