Canterbury Academy U13 Girls - Handball Success

The U13 girls took part in the District Handball match held at The Canterbury Academy this week.

They were up against Herne Bay High who have been strong opposition in the District Handball competitions across all age groups. It was a close encounter during the first half and both teams were cautious so it took a while for the game to get going and the first half ended 3-3.

The girls started the second half well with Poppy Forrest scoring two early goals which allowed Canterbury Academy to take control of the game. They never let up on the brilliant start to the second half and went on to win 8-5. This victory means they now qualify for the County Handball finals in term 3.

The following girls took part in the match.

Year 7

  • Paris Kennelly

  • Dora Layton

Year 8

  • Molly Layton

  • Bethany Graff

  • Grace Weldon

  • Rachel Aitken

  • Poppy Forrest

Please congratulate the girls and wish them good luck in the next round.
