Year 9 Cricket win 4th round County T20 Cup match

Year 9 cricket side recently defeated Simon Langton in the 4th round of a county T20 cup

. A great team performance in the field restricted Langton to 93 off their 20 overs. Bradley Goldsack took three wickets and Freddie Adams bowled his leg spin really well.

The Canterbury High chase got off to a solid start with Goldsack supported well by Brooke Tiernan and Baily Sinnock. However, a collapse left the team in trouble at 56-3 off 13 overs. Some enterprising stroke play from Charlie Tucker helped Goldsack complete the job and Canterbury High won the game by seven wickets with two overs to spare. This is a fantastic achievement to beat a side from the local grammar school that prides itself on it’s cricket. Our team consisted of players from year 7 and year 8 and were up against a full Year 9 team. We will now play Kent College in the quarter finals.

The team was as follows.

  • Bradley Goldsack

  • Adam Aitken

  • Andrew Llong

  • Jordan Gillmore

  • Baily Sinnock

  • Freddie Adams

  • Tom Heath

  • Matiss Siyambalapitiya

  • Charlie Tucker

  • Luke Jones

  • Ross Johnstone

  • Brooke Tiernan

Please do all you can to congratulate these students when you see them around the school.

Thanks for all of your support.
