Hip Hop World Championships Success!

Over half term, Canterbury Academy students (coached by our new partner, Dance Domain) competed at the IDO Hip Hop World Championships in Rimini, Italy.

Once again, the results were outstanding.

Belle Fisher (Year 13 Dance Programme) has another World Championship (this time in the category of ‘Adult Battle Crew’) to add to her collection.

Other Canterbury Academy success:

Rory O'Shea and Maizy Theze (Year 8) – 2nd in World (Junior Battle Crew)

Maize Theze – 5th in Solo Hip Hop (Junior)

Belle Fisher – 5th in Solo Hip Hop (Adult)

Dance Domain Junior Crew – 7th in Hip Hop Crew

This success was not achieved easily. Rory spent the whole morning of the finals with his wrist in ice, accompanied with anti inflammatories and pain killers and a compression bandage, but still went ahead and entered his solo event . Not able to do any tricks and with limited movement in his wrist he still came 19th out of 78.

Talent, combined with a champion’s mentality, is our recipe for success.
