Top musical talent

On the 18th October, Canterbury Academy students took part in the Canterbury Festival's ''Track Record'' competition. Head of Music, Mr Freeman had this to say

''I have just (last night) returned from The Ballroom in Orange Street, Canterbury where our year 13 music programme band "Dare" were competing in the final. This new contest runs alongside the traditional bursary competition and is aimed at rock, pop and contemporary acts.

I am delighted to say that Dare performed excellently and won the competition! They now look forward to their prize, which is a recording session at local studio IMP.

The victory was even more impressive as year 10 JPAE student Jack Whitnell joined the band only today to stand in for regular drummer Courtland Adams!''
