IEM visit sixth form

On Friday 16th October a company called IEM (Industry Education in Music) came in to the Academy to deliver a song writing workshop to sixth formers on our Music Programme.

In the afternoon workshop leader Sam Robson gave a careers talk to a large audience made up of performing arts classes and staff. The sixth form musicians also performed the superb songs they had only just composed that morning before visiting artist Connor Adams played a high-energy solo set which had the crowd in raptures.

The event was a great success, both as a creative process and as a highly informative discussion around higher education and careers, and I now hope to continue our relationship with this excellent company.

Sam and Connor liked the school and students so much that they donated a brand new acoustic guitar to the music department, for which we are very grateful.
