Voiceover

Last night, our two talented CPS students (Sacha and Katie) performed their first ever professional voiceover, for the animated series Bugglebury (written by Sonia Copeland-Bloom, the mother of Orlando Bloom).

The recording session – which also featured professional actresses Bunny Judges and Kate Maylon – was carried out in our own CHS recording studio. The entire session was engineered by Mr Freeman and assisted by Scott Kennett (Year 13 Music Programme student).

Photos are attached.

The feedback from Mrs Copeland-Bloom was tremendous. She said, "Just want to say how terrific it was to get the help from Canterbury High for this project. I am immensely grateful and Katie and Sasha were beautifully prepared and really rose to the occasion. I do hope they enjoyed the experience. Thank you very much indeed for all your help – and I felt very pleased the way it went – and immensely relieved with the help of Andy who captured all our first and second and third attempts and will do some of the basic editing for us, which would be most helpful, we felt, as he was on the spot…before sending it to David Kinally for background noises etc.

I was also delighted to see Bloom House at the school – named after Orlando – and had no idea about it nor, probably had Orlando!"

As if that were not enough, ITV Meridian will be coming to CHS tomorrow morning to do a news piece on the story, interviewing the students and Mrs Copeland-Bloom. Due to the Rugby World Cup, this will not be broadcast tomorrow, but watch out in briefing to find out when this special interview will be aired!

Congratulations to all involved, fingers crossed that this pilot is picked up by one of the major broadcasters!
