Year 7 Cricket Beat QES By 9 Wickets

The year 7 cricket side played their first competitive game of the season and beat QES by 9 wickets on Wednesday afternoon. Craig Williams took a wicket with the first ball of the match and got rid of the opposition’s key batter. Good bowling from Freddie Adams, Lucas Newman, Adam Aitken and William Bainbridge meant that QES finished on 43 after their 16 overs.

Canterbury High lost an early wicket but Craig Williams (20 not out) and Jordan Gillmore (21 not out) played confidently and eased the team home inside 7 overs. For several of the team, this was their first experience of hard ball cricket and therefore this is a really encouraging start to the season.
