Kent Futsal Finals at Medway Park

The U12 and U16 Futsal teams competed at the Kent Futsal Finals at Medway Park this week.

The U12 side were heavy underdogs in the competition and worked extremely hard to win the competition. They beat Barton Court 1-0 in the final, Luke Jones scoring with only 3 seconds remaining on the clock to send the side through to the National Stages of the competition.

Team:

Jordan Gilmore, Luke Jones, Josh Baker, Mineshe Mupandi, Caden Dennis, Alie Kocak, Jude Duhig, Allun Parkin, Danny Sargent, Ben Wardle, Ben Andrews and Eddie Buxton,

The U16 side were heavy favourites from the outset and started well beating previous champions Dane Court 6-1 in the first game. It seemed all to easy for the team as they comfortably qualified for the final.

An early Sam Lawford goal and a plethora of clear chances in the final seemed likely to provide the academy with another Kent Championship but Tonbridge School worked hard and to their credit showed great resilience and desire to finally win the game 2-1 and move through to the national stages.

Team:

Cameron Proctor, Bradley Stevenson, Ollie Dogbevy, Sam Lawford, Charlie Jordan, Sam Witt, Shusanta Rai, Josh Owen and Rasmit Rai.

Congratulations to to both teams on their achievements and good luck to the U12 team for the National stages of the competition.
