THE VOCATIONAL COLLEGE
The Vocational College at The Canterbury Academy offers programmes of study for learners whose skills, abilities, gifts and talents lead them more naturally into the world of work.
Vocational qualifications refer to work-related qualifications that are designed to enable the learner to acquire knowledge and skills that are required to be able to enter into a general area of employment; for example, health and social care, business, leisure or IT.
A vocational programme ensures that a learner is better prepared for the workplace. These programmes most typically lead to BTEC qualification. BTEC qualification can be the equivalent of 1, 2 or 3 A levels and are can also lead to university, an apprenticeship or a direct route into employment. The assessment is usually by both written and practical examinations.
The Canterbury Academy is also delivering the IBCC programme.
